No parent dreams of the day that his or her child receives a GED certificate. We dream of the day that our kids graduate from traditional high schools. We hope that they will go on to colleges so that we can see them graduate with distinguished degrees. But the fact of the matter is that school isn't always right for everyone. Some kids aren't going to go further than just getting a GED. Rather than lamenting that fact, let your child know that you are still proud of him or her for the accomplishment of completing a GED program.
The easiest way to show your child this type of pride is to frame his or her GED certificate in a university diploma frame. If you have multiple children then you will want to get each one a matching diploma frame. Hang your GED child's certificate right up there next to the advanced degree of another sibling. Displaying them in matching frames will show that you recognize that each child is unique and that both have accomplished something important to them individually. All children need their parents to be proud of them whether they've reached the original dreams we had for them or not.
