From One Degree To Another

There are a few people who start out their college careers on a focused path and take that path straight through to graduation. These people are few and far between. Most people will be unsure of their path before they've even embarked upon it and many will change routes more than once throughout their college years. The most common method of change is to go from one degree to another.

For example, a student at Collins graphic design school may realize that the program there is great but it's not right for her. She leaves college and starts working full time. After working for awhile in an office, she realizes that she's better suited to doing business admin stuff. In order to secure a better paycheck at the office, she gets an online business degree.

In cases like this, the choice to make a change about college shouldn't be seen as a failure. Some students are too afraid to switch degree programs during their college years because they feel like it means that they didn't succeed at the first degree or that they weren't good enough to complete the program. The truth is that a lot about college is trial and error; the brave thing to do is admit when you were wrong about something and find a new path that is right.
