Making My Parents Day

Education has always been very important in our family, so when I informed my parents that I was not planning on furthering my education after high school, they nearly had an aneurism. You would have thought that the world had come to an end. I think that my arguments had been very valid, but they did not want to hear any of it at the time.

After high school, I spent several months, much to their dismay, traveling through Europe. It was a fantastic experience and it is one that I would not trade in for anything. When I came home, I decided to go back to school. I knew that I was not university material, but I thought that I could take a course or two.

A friend told me about the Sanford Brown Institute NJ. I called and asked about the courses and when I was satisfied that it was something I would enjoy for the rest of my life, I enrolled myself. I know that it is not the university dreams that my parents originally had for me, but when I told them that I was going back to school, you would have thought that it was Christmas.
